planning:
for the design of the website i talked with my client and we both agreed on the colour scheme grey, black, red and white as that is the colour of his van and white is a colour that can work with that colour scheme.
for the website i plan on taking images and video's while at the place my uncle will be working.
as for taking images at a site he was working at, he felt that it wouldn't be best to take images of the site he was working at as it was a new place with new employers.
as for the images I'll be using for the website are images my Nan took 5 years ago when my granddad and my uncle built my granddads current house.
for the website i wanted the images and information, i wanted to have images of the equipment he uses and the work he had done previously.
as for the information i asked him what he does and the typical pricing of the work that he does.
i also asked the price of the equipment he uses, and what each part is used for in the different works he does.
as for the planning for the images i made them more contrasted and more satisfying to look at
the pictures i used from my grandparents and the ones i took of my uncles carpentry equipment i wanted them to be edited to look sunny and bright instead of the usual grey, British weather.
ive heard from peer's that it makes the image nicer to look at which was my goal.
as for the design of the website itself i made a couple design layouts which are the following:
i like this design for the website as it is clear and all of the pages / navigation to the pages are easy to spot.
i also like the layout for the gallery part of the page as it would look nice in regard to the other parts of the website.
i like the design overall however it won't really suit the aesthetic i am looking for
the layout for this website design is very simple and easy to navigate which does make it a good website design.
the layout of the text and the images are clear and easy to read as it is in two chunks of text.
i like the layout of this but i don't think i would be interesting for an audience to look at (not all that appealing).
the design of this website template is good it makes sense and is easy for and audience to navigate things on the page.
the design is yet again simple as it follows the format of each part of the website is all on different pages which does make it easier to understand but does make it kind of predictable and not all that interesting.
the final design doesn't follow the formats that the other pages follow as all of the information is all on one page but it isn't confusing and there are navigation's to each part of the page.
this layout makes it more interesting for an audience to see and makes it more visually appealing.
it has all of the information needed (required) and gives a lot of info and images.
i have decided to go with this design as it is simpler and i think it would work well with what i am advertising as may not be able to add that much information and might mainly get photos of the work.
evaluation for the planning:
for the planning page i think i could have planned more or rather made a couple backup plans as i made plans with the client to go on a job with him but it was ultimately cancelled due to him changing destinations of were he will be working.
he was also on a site which he didn't think a young girl should be, so due to that i couldn't really get the photo's or other content i wanted however i was able to get some photo's while we were celebration my cousins birthday.
with the planning i had to have backups due to cancellation of other plans, which helped me adapt to the situation, it also helped me understand that in a real situation the client may change plans and cancel them and i now know some way's to adapt to them.
i feel that the design layouts were a good way to show experimentation and inspired my final design idea for the website and i still think the design is a good one.
what did i learn from doing this page for the website:
i learnt how to edit my photo's in wix and make them look better than they would have originally.
i also learnt how to plan different idea's i had and use them to inspire or come up with a final design of the website.
