i made a couple designs to know what i wanted for the website

this was the final design which i decided on using:

the final design doesn't follow the formats that the other pages follow as all of the information is all on one page but it isn't confusing and there are navigation's to each part of the page.

this layout makes it more interesting for an audience to see and makes it more visually appealing.

it has all of the information needed (required) and gives a lot of info and images.




This is only a beginning template which i plan on following and add my own info and images in the spots i plan to, this is a different template than the original wix template but this is to only get the idea of what i want the website to be like.

I showed come of my peers my website and got a couple responses from them:

-appropriate font choice

-make sure the text is legible, white on light background makes it difficult to read

-maybe have less images on the front page, its a long way down to the contacts and info section



-really good choice of images on home screen

- lot's of images-good but perhaps too many

-nice feel to the site possibly a bit shorter home page

-keep the text colour consistent



-very nice layout

-may want to change come of the text colours to make it more visible

-good images

-some text may want to be moved around on the layout



-layout is nice

-font works well

-if you could add where the client works


-i like the amount of photo's in this website

-be careful, your text doesn't blend in with the background



-i think that the overall layout of photo's is top notch.

-you've already highlighted are'a in which you should improve anyway so i don't need to get into it as much

-i'd say brighten up the navigation points more so its more visible

-other than that though artistically it is incredibly nice to look at and you should be proud



-good website, i like the pictures you used

also notice that you have to upload a couple contents do keep uploading that

-other than that this website is a really good one

i received a couple comments that the images were a bit bland to look at so that's why i decided to edit them to make them look brighter.

as for the images i made them more contrasted and more satisfying to look at:

settings / adjust image to get the options i used to change the whole theme and colouration of the image.


unfortunately, i didn't get the screen shots i need from the beginning of making this website, however, when making the website i did have to shorten it which was difficult at first as i didn't know how to do that.

i was able to sort out the extra space which i didn't need from the help of my peer's


the pictures i used from my grandparents and the ones i took of my uncles carpentry equipment i edited them so that it would look appealing i also added a border so that it would stand out better.


i received a comment stating that having the borders made the website feel kind of like a comic book which is a cool idea for the website in my opinion.




evaluation for the production page:


unfortunately i didn't screen shot everything and that was where i struggled at the end of this project as i did have to redo some parts to get those screen shots and images.


when doing the production i think that the editing of the pictures went well as it made them stand out more than they would of if i didn't edit them.


if i were to do this again i would try to manage my time better and try to stick to the plans i have made the best way i can.


also if i were to do this again, i would try to contact my client more for information and to try and plan more times we could speak and for him to have more input into the making of the website.


from the previous responses for my website i have taken them to account to my website the best i can like the layout of the text to make it clearer other than that i kept the layout the same as the majority of the people i asked like the layout.


what i have learnt from this page:


from this project page i have learnt that i need to print screen the process of making the website as that is key to understanding the process of which i tool when making the website.


i also learnt how to use wix as i haven't used that site before and found it relatively easy to use the only thing i did kind of struggle with was how to add the contact box at the bottom but i figured it out in the end.
